When the Chrysanthemums Bloom
By Tracie O'Neill 1-30-2007
Look in the sky
What do you see?
A guardian angel?
Or rain clouds and sleet?
I have an angel.
No guardian.
Angel doesn’t know.
Please don’t say.
If it knows it might go away.
Just like it did the other day.
But today is not the same.
Maybe my angel will trust me today.
Like it once did.
Once and no more.
Oh how I wish it would come back for sure.
I love my angel.
I wish it would leave,
Nevermore.
I wish it would stay,
Forevermore.
▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪
Hello angel,
I’ve got something to say
But if it is said will you fly away?
Stay.
▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪
To you all
Don’t say it.
Of course
It’s not my everything.
Maybe we’ll tell it
One afternoon
When the world is safe
And the chrysanthemums bloom.
