The 'Walk of Life' helps a youth connect the concept of 'balance' with life stages of Baby, Youth, Adult, and Elderly.   The design of the exercise demonstrates that parents support children through the first half.

After many attempts, youth who practiced hard made it to the end of the 'Walk of Life'.  After congratulations, they were challenged again:  Now try it with your eyes closed.  What do you suppose the exercise connects with the concept of 'balance' and 'life stages'?

The event sets up courses in social problem-solving:  http://nativeamericans.mrdonn.org/animalspirits.html

This balancing game helps youth connect the concept of "balance" with the concept of "control".   The dowels represent "emotions".

There were many breaks in the flow of the activity.  There were opportunities for socializing and refreshments.  Some of the youth took clues home to put on their wall.  Some of the youth made gifts for other youth.
